 The Same District Security Committee in Kilimanjaro region has decided to intervene and stop the training provided by the non-governmental organization Empower Tanzania to primary and secondary school teachers in the district after finding out that the training shows signs of inappropriate values.

 The training provided by the institution was about community health, reproductive health and relationships, but the security and safety committee has identified the presence of indicators that are not compatible with Tanzanian values.

 The Chairman of the Committee for Protection and Security, who is the Head of the District of Same Kasilda Mgeni, has said that in the monitoring, they have found that there is a big deficiency, including some of the pictures and words contained in the books used by the institution to teach that there are indicators to encourage things that are not suitable for students.

 In addition to suspending training, the security and safety committee has also asked the director of the institution to suspend all activities related to social health, reproductive health and relationship training for primary and secondary school students in Same district until it is ordered otherwise.  security to provide clarification on these issues.

OVER 6,000 HEMOPHILIA PATIENTS ARE UNRECOGNIZED

It has been stated that, 6,000 patients with Hemophilia have not been diagnosed, while only 294 patients have started treatment in Tanzania.

 Speaking in the city of Dar es Salaam, during a seminar for journalists and health professionals, the COORDINATOR for Accelerating Access to Services for blood patients-Tanzania, Dr.  Stella Rwezaura has said that they want to start a data center to identify them and if they are something that will make it easier for the government to deliver services according to the number of patients.

 Speaking on behalf of the Director of Muhimbili National Hospital, Research Director Dr.  Jessie Mbwambo has said that in November 2020, Muhimbili launched a project to increase the speed of access to services for blood patients, to support the government in accessing Hemophilia and Selimudu services in Referral hospitals.

 However, some parents of Hemophilia patients as well as Hemophilia patients have asked development stakeholders to continue supporting the government in providing drugs and medical equipment that they need in abundance while complaining about the isolation and stigmatization of some people with such problems in society.

 Hemophilia is a disease in which the patient bleeds without clotting due to the lack of blood cells that help the blood to clot, when the patient suffers an injury.

 The problem of Hemophilia which causes a person to bleed non-stop is said to be one of the most serious especially due to the fact that many patients fail to report to health centers either due to the distance of access to services or lack of understanding, a situation that can endanger their lives due to many of them losing a lot of blood  to the injured or to women when they are on their days
